One that makes a Lulav for himself says:
Blessed... that sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to make a Lulav.
For another, one says: to make a Lulav in his name.
When he takes the Lulav, he says:
Blessed... that sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to about the taking of the Lulav.
Prays with it, he says Shecheyanu, and makes a blessing every time he takes it.
There is then a machloket as to the blessing made on the last 6 days of Sukkot:
- The same ending
- ending with "that commanded us on the commandments of the elders" (since it is all d'rabbanan at that point).
- No blessing at all for the other days, like D'mai, another mitzvah d'rabbanan, has no blessing.
